Tour to Caltagirone and cooking lessons with tasting
Type: groups, from 8 to 15 participants
Duration: from 4 to 6 hours
Individual fee: from 90 to 110,00 euros
In the morning you will discover the historic center of Caltagirone with some of its most beautiful features, such as the famous 142 step ceramic tile staircase. To follow, we will visit the historic potters’ workshops where artisans will tell you about the ceramic tradition, showing you the art of decoration, lathe work and all the techniques handed down from generation to generation. Next, the Sicilian Puppet Opera will transport you to a world of fantastic stories, and the intangible cultural heritage of Sicilian identity.
In the afternoon, at the Nepitella home, we will share true moments of joy and light-heartedness, chatting and cooking together. Under the guidance of Pinella and Lina, we will make traditional Sicilian dishes such as the famous arancini. You can cook with us, or watch us step by step and take notes; the important thing is to experience and be together!
The menu you create and a tasting of typical zero km produce will be served on the elegant terrace in front of a striking sunset over the expanses of the Sicilian countryside.
